Prayer for First Day at a New Job
PRAYER 1 – Thanksgiving for the New Opportunity
Father, I thank You for opening this new door of employment. Thank You for favoring me with this opportunity and for guiding my steps into this new assignment where Your grace will sustain me – Psalm 75:6–7
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
PRAYER 2 – Asking for Wisdom and Excellence
Father, grant me wisdom, understanding, and skill in all my tasks today. Help me to learn quickly, work diligently, and excel in everything I do so that my work will glorify You – James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
PRAYER 3 – Asking for Favor with Colleagues and Leaders
Father, surround me with favor as I meet new colleagues and leaders. Let my words, actions, and attitude reflect humility, kindness, and professionalism, so that I may find favor before men and before You – Proverbs 3:4
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
PRAYER 4 – Asking for Strength and Peace
Father, strengthen me today against every anxiety and fear. Fill my heart with peace and confidence, knowing that You are with me as I begin this new chapter in my career – Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
PRAYER 5 – Thanksgiving for God’s Help and Favor
Father, I thank You because I know this first day will be blessed. I believe that You have gone before me to prepare the way, and You will crown my efforts with success – Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
