Prayer for Wisdom in Marriage

PRAYER 1 – Thanksgiving for the Gift of Marriage
Father, I thank You for the blessing of marriage and for joining me with my spouse. Thank You for the love, companionship, and growth we share, and for being the foundation of our union – Proverbs 18:22
Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.

PRAYER 2 – Asking for Understanding and Patience
Lord, give me a heart of understanding and patience toward my spouse. Help me to listen more, speak with grace, and respond in love even during disagreements – James 1:19
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

PRAYER 3 – Asking for Wisdom in Communication
Father, fill my mouth with words that build up and not tear down. Help me to communicate with kindness, honesty, and respect, so our conversations draw us closer together – Proverbs 15:1
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

PRAYER 4 – Asking for Unity in Decision-Making
Lord, grant us wisdom to make decisions together in harmony. Help us to seek Your will first, value each other’s input, and agree on what brings peace and glorifies You – Amos 3:3
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

PRAYER 5 – Thanksgiving for God’s Guidance in Our Union
Father, I thank You for guiding our marriage day by day. I believe You will continue to strengthen our bond, increase our love, and lead us in Your perfect plan – Ecclesiastes 4:12
And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

DECLARATION
I declare that my marriage will be guided by God’s wisdom, rooted in love, and built on unity. We will communicate with grace, make decisions in harmony, and face challenges together in faith. The Lord will be the center of our home, and His peace will reign in our hearts. Our love will grow deeper each day, and our union will be a living testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness.
